Parenting can feel so frustrating, isolating and bewildering a lot of the time. Then the guilt and shame kicks in. “Everyone else seems to be doing okay at this, why am I such a bad parent?!” You are not alone! It takes courage to ask for help so that you can start feeling better in your role of parent and in your relationship with your children. Parenthood is full of ups and downs. Understanding the needs and language of your child while still trying to care for yourself takes a lot of practice, encouragement and self-compassion. There can be a lot of stress and pressure to be “perfect”. This can leave parents feeling depleted and defeated at the end of the day. I want you to know that you are not alone.
